Bodensee Festival 2019!
I had the pleasure last season to do two projects with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz. The first one was a fantastic Shostakovich Prokofiev program, played in Konstanz for the above, followed by a tour in Switzerland ending in Geneva in the always so beautiful Victoria Hall. The second was Eugen Oneguin, already for the Bodensee Festival.
Winfried Neumann invited us again this season, with a very modern program: Music of Gorecki (Magdalena Müllerperth as soloist was ideal!!) followed by another modern composer Theo Verbey. Theo Very is a dutch composer (the theme of the festival this year is « BeNeLux »), who put so many beautiful ideas, colors, atmosphere in his Frozen Echo, it was an honor to make the orchestra discover this new score! Very difficult piece for the orchestra who did a perfect work: Bravi a tutti, but specially to the konzertmeisterin, the solo cello, the percussionists, the bassclarinett, Kontrfagott, the solo Kontrabass, and the 1st&3rd horns and the trumpets! two performances so concentrated, a real honor! Brahms First piano concerto, Stravinsky Le Sacre du Printemps. As I love to say, one for the soul, one for the guts. A pleasure to be back in Essen, to see a lot of so good colleagues, and to enjoy this fantastic program: a lot of work of course but in the end a fantastic concert. With a particular thanks for our soloist, Doyeon Kim. Not only a perfect pianist but as well an excellent musician. We did music together, talked about tempi, atmospheres and how to find the perfect tempi passing from the piano to the horn, a real pleasure. Hope to see you all again very very soon. A perfect week, only possible with the magnificent help of Emile Cantor and Lucia Stratan!
An excellent week with the Tonkünstler Orchester. Not only the pleasure to rehearse in Wien at the Musikverein, but to go to the Festspielhaus in Sant Pölten for a fantastic performance of Mussorgsky-Ravel Tableaux d’une exposition, and Stravinsky L’oiseau de feu.

What an extrême pleasure. Two masterpieces, with a fantastic orchestra,in a fantastic town, full of meaning for me. A week of happiness, of musics, of energy. Last time I was in Thessaloniki I think I was child. The city where my father studied, where he became the glorious mathematician he is.
It was my turn now to meet as an artist the fantastic Thessaloniki: greek yes but as well « Balkanic »! Quick, smiling, full of café frappé! A port, industrial, with such a high energy, very far from the beautiful and contemplative beaches of Halkidiki. And, the pleasure to collaborate with the Thessaloniki Symphonic State Orchestra. Sometimes, it’s nice to say that some clichés are wrong!!!!!! The quality, the professionalism, the musicality of this ensemble, pure happiness.
And the pleasure to discover Sophia Kyanidou in Richard Strauss Vier Letzte Lieder: not only a fantastic soprano, but a fantastic colleague, able to manage the major difficulties of the piece, the eternal lines of the text and with a perfect German! Concert took place in the Megaron, ideal concerthall on front sea and was a magnificent success (for all able to read greek, click hier!)

What a pleasure! After a fantastic time at the Hungarian State Opera, here we are, back at the Opéra National de Paris. A house where I worked as assistant, as second chorus master, a house where I replaced two sooo important conductors for me Maestro Fabio Luisi and Maestro Jesus Lopez-Cobos. A house where I started, where I learned so much from all the instrumentalists of the orchestra, from all the soloists, from all the pianists and chorus members.
A pleasure to be back in the pit of the Palais Garnier, to conduct four Gala de Danse, with L’Ecole de Danse de L’opéra de Paris. Fantastic dancers, beautiful program, done for the birthday of the Opera House: Rameau D’Ores et Déjà, Conservatoire, et André Messager Les deux Pigeons. Thanks to Mlle Elisabeth Platel and to Maestro Philippe Jordan for this confidence! And, a fantastic privilège to even record Messager Les deux pigeons with such an exceptional orchestra!

A pleasure always to work in Budapest, at the Hungarian State Opera!
The company is obviously marvelous, with a desire for music and for theater really impressive. The time there is always such a pleasure. I want here to say « thank you » to all the musicians and soloists (the grâce really touched you my friends),of the Opera House. But not only. The way the company supported the artistic needs of our Backcisarai was perfect, from the planning department to the communication, the orchestra office, the technique, the library, the GMD…. We all know how much we work when we are fix in a theater, and it’s nice to see an entire theater, really everyone, involved for the maximal success!! Many many thanks to all of you. And, many thanks to Amélie and Jozefa for the help organizing these magnificent photos! Two photographs, and really a nice result: Peter, Silvia, many thanks for your work. See you very soon!!
Entre les représentations de Bahkchisarai au Budapest State Opera, une représentation à Bienne, en restant partiellement en Hongrie grâce au magnifique Radamès de Peter Eötvös! Notre spectacle ici a attiré l’attention, beaucoup. Toujours très bien visité c’est un plaisir de compter encore avec celle de ce soir quatre représentations au Théâtre Bienne Soleure! Et ce spectacle a même attiré l’attention de Opernwelt avec une excellente critique que je vous joins. Profitons ce soir de ce merveilleux spectacle, avant de retourner à Budapest pour deux nouveaux Bahkchisarai samedi et dimanche! Un excellent weekend de musique!
