Yannis Pouspourikas conducts the re-opening Gala evening at the Megaron Concert Hall, Thessaloniki, TSSO & Myrto Papathanasiu.

Yannis Pouspourikas continues to develop his particular relationship with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. After two first wonderful programs (Mahler 5th symphony & Brahms Requiem), Yannis Pouspourikas is back in Thessaloniki with the TSSO and Myrto Papathanasiu for a gala-hommage to Maria Callas. This concert will be the first concert with a complete “full orchestra” after the pandemic, and the return of the audience to the fantastic Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Megaron. Puccini highlights, and the fabulous Rosenkavalier Suite.

enjoying the presence of the Greek PrésidentE, Madame Ekaterini Sakellaropoulou!

Tchaikovksy, Jungfrau von Orleans impressions, Domstufen Erfurt! A fantastic month of July, finally back on stage!!

What a pleasure! End of the season 21-22, and finally, an opera production, almost normal life…..Being myself so tired about hearing & talking about covid, I prefer to say how much fantastic is my job: expressing feelings through music, telling this fantastic story to an audience, with voices and instruments…… It would be so easy to forget how important it is to be on stage, with a full orchestra, fantastic soloists and choir, a fantastic audience with the perfect work of Tomo Sugao as Regisseur in this so strong new production. A fantastic month of July, finally back on track!!!!!!!!

Season 2020-2021, Opéra National de Paris, pandemic cancellation April 2021. See you very soon beautiful Opéra de Paris……

Disappointment….. Disappointed but not surprised: due to the pandemic situation, the four Danse Gala at the Palais Garnier that I had to conduct this month are of course cancelled. Numbers are high indeed in Paris, but culture seems to be….. dangerous…… See you (very) soon beautiful Opéra National de Paris. Let’s wish the best of the best for all the artists during those crazy times. Culture, beauty is what makes us human: kill it, reduce us to a functionality, rentability, and it will be time to replace us by machines…….Respect it, and even with a virus, the world will be more beautiful.
